More than half of this was written by Blade. I have only added to it, and made only one change to it. When I have time, I will continue to add to it, for we have new people that should be included.
In a time where many races are at war, in a desperate attempt, an elven king ordered a general to organize a platoon of pure elves to fight for the protection of their homeland, Eberron. Their first enemy was a vampire of great power, only the general's strongest companion survived the assault, fortunately, the vampire was slayed by the general, earning her the title, Vampire Slayer.
As time passed the platoon grew and became a company, eventually, Vampire Slayer managed to recruit over a hundred more elves, pure elves. This battalion became famous and feared throughout the nations, the king was greatly impressed and named the battalion, Elves of Eberron. They were given the best armours in many lands, weapons that can pierce the magical devices of most creatures, and most of all, fame. Over the years, the Elves of Eberron had slayed hundreds upon hundreds of enemies that dared cross the path of Eberron but they have developed one weakness, the elves have become corrupted, forgetting the main purpose of its creation, they plundered, took all loot, and spared no one. Until one company of humans crossed their path, this humans were not your everyday human warriors, they were trained by the elite of the elites, born with one purpose, to serve the human king with all their might, except for one.
He was a cleric recruited by this humans, not to fight, but to heal them, he was trained at least to have minimum combat capabilities. The two armies clashed, blood scarred the surroundings, what the elves lacked in the combat abilities, they make it up with their advanced technology, but skills triumphed the battle, the humans have successfully defeated the strongest army of Eberron.
As the army left the battlefield, the cleric was torn in two, he pledged to cure anyone in need, thus, he sneaked out of the human camp at night and treaded to the battlefield. He searched for any possible life source and failed to do so, he walked aimlessly, seeing nothing but slaughtered or butchered elves. Until he heard a sound, he followed it until he came upon a sight of the general of the elves, she was gravely wounded, how she survived, he will never know.
He walked cautiously towards her, but first he made himself know, "Eh-hem, I'm here to help."
The elf narrowed her eyes, a million thoughts passing her mind, but two things kept on surfacing. First, she knew she will die of blood loss and without immediate help she wouldn't last an hour. And lastly, even if the man in front of him is lying, she wouldn't stand a chance, therefore, she let him approached her, not caring about anything except getting immediate help.
"You have lost too much blood, you also sustained a broken leg, a concussion, three stab wounds, and you'll probably die of infection if you managed to survived the blood loss." said the man as he run a diagnostic test with his healing magic.
With a dark humor, the general replied, "Human, you don't think I don't know that? But that's not the question here, why did come back here? To help your enemies?! Such betrayal! or perhaps, take advantage of me?! You scum!"
The man chuckled, "I'm not exactly fond of doing it while the woman is covered with blood. Now shut up before you make things worse."
For the record, no one dared order her around, and here a mere lowly human telling her to shut up?! The nerve! But she couldn't argue, her life is hanging in a thin thread and only he can take her away from the doorstep of death.
After a gruesome hour of cleaning her wounds, aligning her broken leg, transferring his blood to her system, and stitching her wound, he managed to stabilized her condition. With his job done, he concocted a potion to temporarily give her strength to travel back to her land. Knowing that he did his best to keep her from dying, he left the battlefield and headed to the camp.
Five years later...
"Surrender human, or suffer a painful-" her eyes widened, she cannot believe it, after killing every human on her path, she decided to keep the cleric alive, but with his helm covering his face she did not notice that he was the same healer that kept her alive.
Confusion spread throughout the ranks of elves, never have they seen their general display such emotions: surprise, anguish, and a hint of happiness? One elf voiced his thoughts, "My lady, why have you stopped?"
Snapping out of it, the general looked around her, staring at the eyes of her officers, and at that moment, they knew what she was thinking, only they can communicate at such degree, and they knew that they cannot defy her for she had survived the assault of the Vampire, and came out alive from the army of humans, they knew that her strength are far above any elves, that if she wishes so she can kill all her officers in a blink of an eye, without any choice, they all nodded.
The general looked down, and said to the healer, "Human, do you want to join my army? The Elves of Eberron...?"
Several years later...
After the defeat of the Elves by the hands of the human army, and the induction of the only human into the Elves of Eberron, the king of the evles, realizing that his kingdom would be at risk, decided to allow the growing number of half-elves into the military. The most distinguished of the half-elves were eventually allowed into the elite Elves of Eberron.
At first there was great opposition to the kings decision, but after several contests of strength and magic, the pure blood elves had to admit that the increased physical strength of the half-evles would be a welcome addition to the front lines.
The king continued to try and strengthen the military stength of his kingdom, and sought out the leader of the surface drow. It took some time, but the king finally forged an alliance with the Drow. The leader of the Drow demanded that some of his elite soldiers merged with the elite of the Elves.
For several months, relations between the Drow and the Elves were weak at best, but as the months went but, and comrads were lost in battle, frindships were forgerd between them. Soon, the combined strength of the pure blood elves, the half-elves, and the Drow were unrivaled.
In comand of the now unified fighting force, were two highly distungushed soldiers. The elf surviver of the battle against the human army. At her side was Bladeedge, the healer who saved life after that fateful battle. It wasn't long before misfortune met the Vampier Slayer though, as she was struck down in combat by a stray arrow in battle. Bladeedge was promoted to lead the Elves.
Bladeedge was the one who convinced the King to return to the origional mission of the Elves. To protect the people, as they once did before the power hungryRealizing that he needed the advice and support of those aroud him, he surrounded himself with his trusted officers.
Zedara was the first one to support Bladeedge. Being another survivor of the battle against the humans, she had seen many of the battle tatics that had been employed against the elves. It didn't take long for her to prove her worth to Blade by sneaking into enemy camps and assinating the leaders of the enemy in the dark of night.
Maximka was the next one to join the inner circle of the Elves. A honorable pallidan, he is always the first on the battlefield, leading the soldiers under him with his divine strength. His holy sword struck fear into those he battled. The weapons of the enemy seemed to vear away from him, as though there was a higher power protecting him in battle.
After losing a few battles simply because of magic, Bladeedge brought his best wizard, Avian Keshin, into the fold. Avian's skill with spells is among the best of either of the three races of elves. Able to incederate many enemys with a single spell, or to selectivly target the leaders of enemy forces with an unavoidable spell, Avian was able to turn the tide of battle on more than one occasion. And while Avian might not be the strongest physically, perfering to carry a scroll than a sword, he isn't afraid to get right in the middle of the fight if he thinks he can be more useful there.
Lavanthor, the Drow, was highly skilled at finding traps that the enemy had laid to stop the advance of the Elves, as well as sneaking through the enemy camps to preform recon and gather information.
The strength of the Elves continued to grow as the recruited more and more allies. Many more people distingushed themself, on and off the battlefield, with adivce, training, and in many other ways.
Today, the Elves have been stationed in Stormreach. Their mission, to protect the citizens of Eberron. Having regained the honor and nobility of their origional mission, they walk the streets of Stormreach, most of the time out of uniform, protecting the people from the behind the scenes. On the rare occasion that the Elves are seen in uniform, it is out in the wilderness, slaying giants and orcs, as well as fending off groups of the other intelegent races that would cause undue harm to the people of Eberron.
